A Game of Thrones

I never read the books, only watched the show on HBO. Like most people it seems, I was disappointed with how the show ended. I decided to listen to the available books in hopes George R. R. Martin might have The Winds of Winter published in the not-to-distant future. I have noticed I feel much closer to The Starks, Jon Snow, Dany, and Tyrion having the prior knowledge.
